Gatherers typically fall into three main categories
- Sourcing - Determining and establishing relationships to establish new sources for donated food.
- Collecting - Drivers with vehicles that can physically go and pick-up food as it is available.
- Growers - Individuals, Families, Churches, etc. that are intentional about planting gardens that will be donated to feeding the hungry once they are harvested.
Because food availability is difficult to judge, gatherers who are available to retrieve food with short notice are needed to ensure good food is not discarded.
Gathering & Distribution typically requires 4 hours to pick up from participating restaurants and deliver.
Helpers that can use their personal vehicles (i.e. larger vans, SUVs, etc.) are very much needed and appreciated.
